Youth Football and Cheer League dedicated new field house

Sept. 1, 2009 | 0 comments

Waukesha Youth Football and Cheerleading League

On September 15th the league dedicated a new field house at Haertel Field.

The league added substantially to the north of the building as well as a second story.

Improved plumbing and electrical was also added. The league paid for the building

Completely through fund raising efforts and volunteer support. Though Haertel Field is part of the Waukesha School System all improvements to the field since 1992 have been funded by the league which has spent nearly $83.000 to improve Haertel Field.

Such as fencing, seating, recrowning the playing field, sprinkler system, scoreboard and general maintenance. In 1988 the league was started in response to the growing need for a youth football program now after 21 the years the program hosts 16 teams, and 9 cheerleading squads grades 5th thru 8th each associated with one of Waukesha 3 public high schools. Each year nearly 500 children or more participate in this program. Scholarships are provided for families who cannot afford the registration fee. It is only because of the dedication of volunteers to coach, fundraise, or serve as board members that the league has grown to be a vital part of the Waukesha community. A special thanks from Ted Schneider-president, to board members and volunteers, Dave Lepine, Mike Radjojcic, Bill and Sean Marrow, Glen Chadwick, Steve Fleischmann, Dan Pilon, Cindy Sue Nelson, Ken Garaner,Tim McNeill, Ed Haupt, Laurie Kujawa, Ken Diekfuss, Todd Stair and Herr Environmental, Jim and Dave Mork, Bob Myers,Jim Weske, Nic Henrickson, Gary Neibauer and Dennis Braun from Total Comfort HVAC, Glen Norder and the Waukesha School District.
