Downtown Waukesha welcomes the Irish at heart

The Waukesha Business Improvement District announces St. Patrick’s Day specials at participating businesses throughout Historic Downtown Waukesha. Specials include traditional Irish fare, holiday treats, discount offers, as well as options for live Irish music.

 

“St. Patrick’s Day is cause for celebration,” said Karen Richards, executive director of the Waukesha Business Improvement District. “Downtown Waukesha is serving up traditional Irish fare, great Irish music, and specials tied to St. Patrick’s Day.”

 

Participating businesses offering specials and discounts include:

 

Bangles & Bags, 307 W. Main St., will host a “Pot of Gold” sale, Wed., March 17 through Fri., March 19. Customers can reach into the pot and choose a token that will reveal a savings of 10, 15, or 20% on a single item.

 

Clinton Street Gallery, 801 Clinton St., has a Couples-at-the Wheel special. Book a session to work at the potter’s wheel March 19-21 and receive a complimentary glass of green beer or mint truffles. Please call 262-408-7550 to make a reservation.

 

Coffee ‘n Beans, 234 W. Main St., #5, is offering the Pot O’ Gold Latte, a Shamrock Mocha, and a Leprechaun Frappe, iced or hot, and delicious.

 

Cookies Galore & More, 128 W. Broadway, is offering beautiful shamrock cookies.

 

Divino Gelato Café, 227 W. Main St., has special flavors to celebrate St. Pat’s Day gelato style including Bailey’s Irish Cream, St. Michaels Irish Americano, Peppermint Patty, and Shamrock Mint Chip.

 

House of Guinness, 354 W. Main St., this authentic Irish pub is celebrating beginning at 6:00 a.m. with Irish Fry breakfast and Irish Stew served in a bread bowl for lunch and dinner. Live Irish music by Danno Brown visiting from Ireland will be featured and plenty of Guinness, of course.

 

People’s Park, 337 W. Main St., everyone’s Irish at People’s Park on St. Patrick’s Day! Check out the generous portion of Park-made Corned Beef alongside a steamed cabbage wedge, carrots, celery, red potatoes & basil buttered marble rye.

 

Rochester Deli, 143 W. Broadway, starts the day with an Irish Breakfast Buffet including Bangers and Rashers. Corned Beef & Cabbage and Irish Stew available for dinner as well as corned beef by the pound and Shamrock Cookies.

 

RedStone Pub & Grill, 225 South St., features a traditional corned beef and cabbage boiled dinner with red potatoes.

 

Sprizzo Gallery Caffe, 363 W. Main St., offers an Irish-themed menu all day long and Dorchen Wild performs live Irish music, 7 to 10 p.m.

 

The Steaming Cup, 340 W. Main St., is offering a Sweet Corned Beef Sandwich with an interesting horseradish dill sauce; Colcannon, Irish mashed potatoes with onions, butter, and chopped kale; and Irish County Kerry Soup, special goodness with potatoes, carrots, onions, and celery.

 

Waukesha Tattoo Company @ Galleria Edge, 463 W. Main St., features a 20% discount to all Irish related tattoos on March 17, 2010.

 

Rich in history and packed with contemporary flavor, Historic Downtown Waukesha & Riverwalk is easy to find with two way streets and ample parking that make it a friendly option. From I-94 exit at Hwy F south to Barstow, turn left to enter the Downtown Business District. From I-43, exit at Hwy 164 north; continue north to Main Street, turn left to enter the Downtown Business District. A variety of parking options are available including on-street parking, public parking lots and two parking structures.
