Nightlife Venue Opens in Downtown Waukesha

July 9, 2010 | 0 comments

The Waukesha Business Improvement District announces the grand opening of Club Xstreem, 716 Clinton St., on Tuesday, July 6 beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Waukesha Business Improvement District will welcome the young adult dance venue to historic downtown Waukesha with a ribbon cutting celebration at 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

Club Xstreem is a non-alcoholic; non-smoking dance hall featuring a live DJ mixing music. The dance hall caters to young adults, ages 17-20, and allows them to socialize in a safe environment while being supervised. “We have five customer service staff members as well as six security guards working each evening,” said Tammy Schmidt, co-owner of Club Xstreem. “Security will monitor behavior both inside and out and will also be available to walk people to their car.”

“The owners have been meticulous in their planning for this venture,” said Karen Richards, executive director of the Waukesha Business Improvement District. “We expect Club XStreem to be a positive outlet for young adults in our community.”

During the Open House, parents and community members are encouraged to stop by and tour the location, learn more about the dance hall, and have a chance to ask questions. “Our Open House gives parents the opportunity to gather information about where their children will be hanging out,” said Schmidt.

This family oriented venue offers a strict code of conduct and zero tolerance policy. “There are not a lot of options or specific nightlife venues for suburban youth to enjoy on the weekends,” said Schmidt. “We wanted to open a dance hall that offers a positive place for underage youth to enjoy, that also works well with the community. We care about the impact we have on our youth.”

Rich in history and packed with contemporary flavor, Historic Downtown Waukesha & Riverwalk is easy to find with two-way streets and ample parking that make it a friendly option. From I-94 exit at Hwy F south to Barstow, turn left to enter the Downtown Business District. From I-43, exit at Hwy 164 north; continue north to Main Street, turn left to enter the Downtown Business District. A variety of parking options are available including on-street parking, a variety of public parking lots and two parking structures for a total of 1,800 downtown parking spaces.
