Volunteer Opportunities in Waukesha County

Therapeutic Riding Class Assistant: Spring 2010 volunteers will be needed to help with horseback riding lessons in Waukesha. Volunteers will be side walking horses for children or adults with disabilities. Volunteers are needed Tuesday through Thursdays afternoon and on Saturday mornings. Training will be provided to all volunteers. Call the United Way Volunteer Center for information regarding volunteer forms that need to be signed and mailed.

 

Literacy Council Bake Sale: Bakers and Bake Sale volunteers are needed on Good Friday, April 2, 2010 from 8:00am-5:00pm (choose your shift). The Literacy Council of Greater Waukesha is holding a bake sale at the downtown branch of Waukesha State Bank. Bakers will deliver their baked items on April 1st or 2nd. Bake Sale volunteers will be selling the baked good.

 

Walk MS 2010 Waukesha County: The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is seeking volunteers for Walk MS in Waukesha County on Sunday, April 25 at Carroll University from 8:00am-2:00pm. There are many jobs to choose from including registration, set-up, clean-up, handing out water and completer bags, and cheering at the finish line.

 

Hospice House Volunteer: Volunteers are needed to visit both patients and families once a week or more at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care in Waukesha. Activities might include socializing with the patient and/or family, listening to a life review, reading or writing for the patient, playing games, running errands, listening to music, playing with visiting children and assisting with administrative tasks. No medical knowledge or training is required.

The farmers' market in downtown Waukesha is the place to be from 7 a.m. to noon every Saturday from May 8 through Oct. 30.
