Painting a Portrait of St. Patrick?

Katie Musloff, currently represented by the Elaine Erickson Gallery in Milwaukee, will demonstrate the art of portrait painting at the WAUKESHA CREATIVE ARTS LEAGUE’S seventh of their September - May monthly meetings at 6:30pm, Wednesday, March 17th at the Waukesha Goodwill Industries building, 1400 Nike Drive, Waukesha – a really friendly meeting place with ample lighted parking.

All artists and those simply interested in art are invited to attend

In her artist’s statement Katie states that her goal, through painting and drawing, is to find a way into people’s lives so that she can learn more about them as individuals and how they affect her understanding of people as a whole. Katie loves the specific and individual - and she paints those things so that the viewer takes time to look at each piece separately.

Katie attended the Milwaukee Institute of Arts and Design from 1999-2004 and received a BFA in painting. You can view some of her outstanding work on her web site www.katiemusloff.com.

Yearly dues for WCAL are a very reasonable $25. Sign up at a meeting or find a WCAL membership form at one of the 16 Waukesha County libraries or call Margaret Schumann at 262-385-5320.

At our informal, friendly meetings we learn through art demonstrations and critiques by local artists, teachers, and professionals who share their art expertise and vision. WCAL also organizes the yearly Waukesha County Courthouse Purchase Award Art Program, participates in the Wisconsin Regional Art Program, awards art scholarships to area High School Seniors and conducts a public member exhibit. Our members also are able to show their works at selected local libraries and other venues.
