Carl Zach Cycling rolls into Waukesha

June 22, 2010 | 0 comments

The Waukesha Business Improvement District announces the Carl Zach Cycling Classic will take place on Sunday, June 27, 2010. The 17th annual bike race will feature races all day beginning at 10:20 a.m. with the Juniors. The Waukesha race is again the culminating event for the Tour of America’s Dairyland. Racing will take place on the streets of Historic Downtown Waukesha. Race categories include women’s, masters, and men’s professional categories one, two, three, four, and five, as well as a children’s race. The Tour of America’s Dairyland will include races in ten other communities with local, state, national, and international racers and spectators expected to attend.

“Waukesha is home to many people passionate about cycling,” said Karen Richards, executive director of the Waukesha Business Improvement District. “We are thrilled to again host this action-filled, quality event that brings people from around the world to downtown Waukesha.”

Randy Radish, chairman of the Bike Race Committee, has announced that Couri Insurance will again be the title sponsor of Carl Zach Cycling Classic. “Couri Insurance is a great supporter of downtown Waukesha and of the Carl Zach Cycling Classic,” said Radish. “Our community is fortunate to have such phenomenal local support,” said Radish.

Additionally, the Waukesha Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department will oversee the Kiddie Klassic. “Great community partnerships such as the one we have with the Parks Dept. are crucial to the success of civic events,” said Richards. “We encourage the greater community to come down and experience what downtown Waukesha has to offer. We know you’ll be glad you did.”

Easy to find, two way streets and ample parking make Downtown Waukesha a friendly option. From I-94, exit Hwy F south to Barstow, turn left to enter the Downtown Business District. From I-43, take Hwy 164/East Avenue north to Main Street, turn left to enter the Downtown Business District.
